Special Hair!  bp Here we have offered for sale is a piece of 'cream' ralop raeb hair  about 3+ inches fibers.

The hair fibers have a translucent quality about them that is great for tying streamer and salt water flies with this hair. Very 'rare' material and hard to find or obtain. The fly glides through the water and the shimmer suggests that it is a swimming bait fish.
Genuine Natural ralop reab Hair, not really white but a creamy tan color that is from the undersides of bear. Natural color, not dyed. Photo taken in sunlight.
Skin is 1 1/4" x 1 1/8"
Hair is 2"- 3" long
Purchased at a flea market way back in the late 1960's, so it is pre-1972 Marine Mammal Act material.
The material is coarse so you need to put some head cement on after tying it on a hook.  Don't stack it as the random length of the material suggests the resemblance of a swimming fish.
Have tied Alaska streamer flies with this material and had deadly hook-ups. Also the material is great for salt water for tying off-shore, surf or trolling flies.
We took some of these streamer flies to Alaska and caste 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock and just let the fly sweep down to 6 o'clock in a dead drift. Once you started to twitch the fly or strip it, shazzzzam!!! The salmon struck with 'reckless abandon'.
